There are two different varieties of the Chinese Crested, one is a PowderPuff having a longcoat, the other is Hairless having long hair on the feet and head. The Powderpuff does need extensive groom, however the hairless requires minimal hair care.
Chinese Crested rarely bark, this breed is very well manered and cheerful, although they can be wary of strangers. The Chinese Crested makes good companion animal, and is always there to cheer you up! THe breed does well in obedience classes and is willing to please their owners.
The Chinese Crested is very clean and has virtually NO ODOR at all!!
The Hairless variety should always be protected from the cold and the sun, using a sunscreen will protect this breeds sensitive skin from sunburn. The Powderpuff needs daily brushing and trimming to keep the coat clean and free matting. This breed sheds little to no hair.
The Chinese Crested does very well in apartment life and would do just fine without a fenced yard. Regular play sessions would be sufficent for this breed.
Chinese Crested are weighting from 5 pounds to 12 pounds.
